Worlds Greenest Bachelor

April 29, 2011 --(American Banking News)-- Portland bachelor and green consultant Kevin Pile may think twice about offering to do “whatever it takes” when it comes to sharing his convictions about sustainability for the upcoming documentary film, Green Light: The Sustainable Oroville Project. The Founder of Ecotrain, which publishes the annual Ecotrain Green Career Guide Almanac, was persuaded to become the “World’s Greenest Bachelor” in an effort to create awareness about a sustainable movement in his home town of Oroville, WA.

Carbon Cycle Crush is an oil seed processor located in Washington State.  CCC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Carbon Cycle Investments, a visionary company developing a series of “Energy Parks” located in communities starting in the Pacific Northwest and expanding throughout the U.S. These parks will produce a variety of renewable energy products.

Winter 2011, Green Living Journal PDX-- Life Without Wheels - An Interview with Kevin Pile Surely you’ve had one of those days when you thought about just giving up owning a car altogether. You know, one of those days when you just found out that the new timing belt’s going to cost you $1800 and while they are in there working on that they might as well do…(you fill in the blank)… for another $….(again, you fill in the blank)…. Or maybe it was the day the monthly payment, the gas bill, the new plates and the insurance premium all had to be paid in the same week. Or even better, maybe you are one of those that is tired of spewing exhaust gases into our air and exporting money to OPEC for the privilege of doing that.

Either way, you need to meet Kevin Pile, Co-founder and CEO of Ecotrain Media Group, Portland, who no longer owns an automobile. The Green Living Journal thought his story might stimulate others to, if not follow suit, at least plant the seed of the idea for later consideration.

Intern, Staff, and Volunteer Solar Living Institute

Kevin came to the Solar Living Institute in Spring 2005 as an Ecopreneurial Intern, with a focus on the SLI's annual 2-day sustainability fair, SolFest. After a few months, Kevin became a Solar Living Institute staff member as Workshop Coordinator and Intern Coordinator. Living on site, he had the opportunity to live amongst many interns, meet thousands of visitors to the 12-acre demonstration site, and host 100's of workshops for various sustainability interests. It is during this tenure that Kevin made great friends, and gained the necessary experience to combine his entrepreneurial drive with his passion for a sustainable future.
